Company Background

Metacaulk products are a family of firestopping products specifically designed to fill voids in construction joints and around penetrations in fire rated walls or floors. Each time a fire-rated wall or floor is penetrated, it must be restored to its original fire rating. In the event of fire, proper installation of Metacaulk products restrict the spread of flames, smoke, hot gases and water through penetration openings and construction joints. Many Metacaulk products have intumescent properties which cause them to expand when heated, forming a high-strength, insulating char. Metacaulk products are tested in accordance with ASTM E-814, UL 1479, and CAN4-S115M Fire Test Standards, as well as ASTM E-84, ASTM E-136, and UL 723 Surface Burning Characteristics standards.
All Metacaulk firestopping products are tested in RectorSeal's on-site fire test laboratory which has been designated by UL under their Witness Test Data Program for fire testing to UL 1479, UL 2079 and UL 263. The facility was built for purpose of conducting UL-certified burns for through-penetration and construction joint assemblies. A fully computerized, state-of-the-art control room monitors every phase of a test burn as specified by ASTM E-814 (UL 1479) or UL 2079 standards. This test facility provides for quicker response times to customer needs for UL-tested assemblies, and for the development of cost-effective UL-classified products.

Technical Service professionals are available and provide answers in the form of tested systems or documented certified installation instructions. Application and Specifiers' Guides, on-site training classes and educational seminars also provide technical information and support.
